On February 21st, ctrip announced that its board of directors appointed Mr James liang's chairman and chief executive officer, appointed Mr Mr. Fan, and President, vice President of the board of directors and ctrip travel holdings co., LTD., chairman of the board. Ctrip travel holding co., LTD is responsible for ctrip's tourism related business holdings and investment company. The appointment will take effect from March 1, 2013.

Previously, from the nasdaq-listed ctrip, James liang, 35, 2007 resigned as CEO, began studying at Stanford university in the United States and received a doctor's degree in economics.

Mr Mr. Fan said: "China's tourism industry continued rapid growth in the past ten years, this growth is expected in the future will be a period of time to keep up. I believe James (Mr James liang) will lead the ctrip team to further strengthen our market leading position. I can develop potential of strategic investment opportunities for ctrip in the future was very excited. In the new position, I will continue to be involved in the strategic direction and new business development. I will continue trying to ctrip their contribution to the growth of the power of the future."
